Cuban Am­bas­sador meets PM

The Am­bas­sador of Cuba to Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Abe­lardo Cueto Sosa called on Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay at the Gya­ly­ong Tshogkhang on 3rd De­cem­ber 2014.

Wel­com­ing Am­bas­sador Sosa, Ly­onch­hen thanked him for vis­it­ing Bhutan and said that it was an hon­our to re­ceive him in the coun­try.

Ly­onch­hen ex­pressed his fascination and fond­ness for Cuba and its achieve­ments in pre­serv­ing its vi­brant cul­ture. Am­bas­sador Sosa shared that Cuba’s in­vest­ments have been re­mark­able in biotech­nol­ogy, hu­man re­sources and other in­dus­tries. He also said that doc­tors are ex­tremely im­por­tant as­sets and Cuba has around 65,000 doc­tors prac­tic­ing in var­i­ous coun­tries.

Ly­onch­hen thanked the am­bas­sador for dis­patch­ing doc­tors in Bhutan and fur­ther re­quested the am­bas­sador to send spe­cial­ists par­tic­u­larly gy­nae­col­o­gists to prac­tice in Bhutan

Am­bas­sador Sosa is the first Cuban Am­bas­sador to Bhutan and had pre­sented his cre­den­tials to His Majesty the King in 2012. This is his third visit to Bhutan.
