Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay in commemoration of 60th birth anniversary of our Fourth Druk Gyalpo launch the first “Geog Based Banking Services” and “Drinchen Ama Saving Scheme” on 11th December 2014 in Kabisa, Punakha. Lyonchhen and Finance Minister handed over piggy banks to 20 women from different villages in Kabisa as part of the “Drinchen Ama Saving Scheme.” With Geog Based Banking Service, the people living in the rural areas can now have their own bank account, which means they will be able to deposit cash, make loan repayment, withdrawals, and fund transfers, inquire about their balance and remittance. The bank will set up Geog Based Banking Service in all 205 Dzongkhags.
