Am­bas­sador presents the let­ter of cre­den­tials

Bhutan’s Am­bas­sador to the Repub­lic of Korea, H.E. Ms. Pema Cho­den pre­sented H.E. Ms. Park Geun-hye, Pres­i­dent of the Repub­lic of Korea on 23rd Jan­uary, 2014 in Seoul. Fol­low­ing the pre­sen­ta­tion of her let­ter of cre­dence, Am­bas­sador Pema Cho­den called on the Pres­i­dent and con­veyed the good wishes of His Majesty the King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Prime Min­is­ter and the Peo­ple of Bhutan. Am­bas­sador Pema Cho­den re­it­er­ated the gov­ern­ment‘s firm com­mit­ment to work closely with the Repub­lic of Korea to fur­ther en­hance the close ties of co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the two coun­tries. The Pres­i­dent spoke highly of Bhutan’s pos­i­tive ex­pe­ri­ence with democ­racy and its devel­op­ment phi­los­o­phy of Gross Na­tional Hap­pi­ness. She said that the two coun­tries share the same vi­sion of Hap­pi­ness for their peo­ple. The Pres­i­dent ac­knowl­edged the gov­ern­ment ‘s pro­posal to send Bhutanese youth for em­ploy­ment in the Repub­lic of Korea and said their rel­e­vant agen­cies would study the Pro­posal fur­ther. Dur­ing the visit, Am­bas­sador Pema Cho­den also met with se­nior gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials and busi­ness peo­ple in the Repub­lic of Korea and held dis­cus­sion on is­sues of mu­tual in­ter­est. Diplo­matic re­la­tions be­tween the two coun­tries was es­tab­lished in Septem­ber 1987. Am­bas­sador Pema Cho­den is the Am­bas­sador of Bhutan to Bangladesh with con­cur­rent ac­cred­i­ta­tion to the Repub­lic of Korea, Mal­dives, Sri Lanka and Pak­istan.
