Ambassador presents the letter of credentials
Bhutan’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Ms. Pema Choden presented H.E. Ms. Park Geun-hye, President of the Republic of Korea on 23rd January, 2014 in Seoul. Following the presentation of her letter of credence, Ambassador Pema Choden called on the President and conveyed the good wishes of His Majesty the King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Prime Minister and the People of Bhutan. Ambassador Pema Choden reiterated the government‘s firm commitment to work closely with the Republic of Korea to further enhance the close ties of cooperation between the two countries. The President spoke highly of Bhutan’s positive experience with democracy and its development philosophy of Gross National Happiness. She said that the two countries share the same vision of Happiness for their people. The President acknowledged the government ‘s proposal to send Bhutanese youth for employment in the Republic of Korea and said their relevant agencies would study the Proposal further. During the visit, Ambassador Pema Choden also met with senior government officials and business people in the Republic of Korea and held discussion on issues of mutual interest. Diplomatic relations between the two countries was established in September 1987. Ambassador Pema Choden is the Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Korea, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
