Us­tad Glu­lam Abass Khan per­forms in Thim­phu as a part of In­dian Repub­lic Day cel­e­bra­tion

As part of cel­e­bra­tions of In­dia’s Repub­lic Day and also the 60th Birth An­niver­sary of His Majesty the fourth Druk Gyalpo, Nehru-Wangchuck Cul­tural Cen­tre or­ga­nized a light clas­si­cal per­for­mance by six mem­ber cul­tural troupe led by Us­tad Ghu­lam Abass Khan spon­sored by In­dian Coun­cil for Cul­tural Re­la­tions (ICCR) New Delhi. On 26th Jan­uary, the group per­formed at In­dia House, which was well at­tended by Her Majesties the Queen Moth­ers, Ly­onch­hoen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay, Cabi­net Min­is­ters, Con­sti­tu­tional Heads, Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of In­ter­na­tional Or­ga­ni­za­tions and other dis­tin­guished guests Start­ing with recital of Raag Hans­d­wani, Us­tad Ghu­lam Abass Khan ren­dered pa­tri­otic songs and all time hit “Dama Dam Masat Ka­land­har”.

On 27th Jan­uary, 2015, the sec­ond per­for­mance was ar­ranged at Depart­ment of Youth and Sports (DYS), Au­di­to­rium. The hall was filled be­yond the ca­pac­ity of 200. Ly­onpo Dorji Cho­den Min­is­ter of Min­istry of Works and Hu­man Set­tle­ments, se­nior gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, of­fi­cers from Em­bassy of In­dia and other dis­tin­guished guests at­tended the pro­gramme. Us­tad Ghu­lam Abass Khan ren­dered Kyal, Tarana, and Ghaz­als and hit Bol­ly­wood songs.
