Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay meets the Am­bas­sador of Kaza­khstan

Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay met with H.E. Mr. Bulat Sarsen­bayev, Am­bas­sador of Repub­lic of Kaza­khstan to In­dia at the Gya­ly­ong Tshogkhang last Tues­day. ]Ly­onch­hen con­grat­u­lated Am­bas­sador Sarsen­bayev on his suc­cess­ful term as the am­bas­sador to the Mid­dle East and said that his pres­ence in the neigh­bour­hood meant Bhutan and Kaza­khstan would be able to de­velop closer ties with each other. Ly­onch­hen said that with Kaza­khstan’s maz­ing suc­cess story and as a sim­i­lar land­locked coun­try, Bhutan could learn a lot from Kaza­khstan’s ex­pe­ri­ences. Ly­onch­hen and Am­bas­sador Sarsen­bayev dis­cussed on col­lab­o­rat­ing to­gether and ex­plor­ing tourism op­por­tu­ni­ties by en­cour­ag­ing peo­ple-to-peo­ple con­tact, pro­mot­ing stu­dent ex­change pro­grammes and com­bat­ing cli­mate change. Ly­onch­hen also pro­posed ac­quir­ing Kaza­khstan’s as­sis­tance in build­ing cy­cling trails around Thim­phu, which could be used for com­mut­ing as well as for sport­ing ac­tiv­i­ties. Ly­onch­hen thanked the am­bas­sador for vis­it­ing Bhutan and ex­pressed that he looked for­ward to work­ing to­gether and strength­en­ing ties with Kaza­khstan in the com­ing years.
