MoEA min­ster on a bi­lat­eral good­will and in­vest­ment visit to Ja­pan

The Min­ster for Eco­nomic Af­fairs Norbu Wangchuk will be vis­it­ing Ja­pan from to­day till the 15h of March on the in­vi­ta­tion of the Gov­ern­ment of Ja­pan. Dur­ing the visit, the min­is­ter will be meet­ing with se­nior gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials of the Min­istry of Econ­omy, Trade and In­dus­try; Min­istry of For­eign Af­fairs and Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture, Forestry and Fish­eries to dis­cuss on­go­ing co-op­er­a­tion and other bi­lat­eral is­sues. As part of the visit, there will be meet­ings with busi­ness as­so­ci­a­tions to pro­mote Bhutan as a new in­vest­ment des­ti­na­tion. The busi­ness as­so­ci­a­tions in­clude Or­ga­ni­za­tion for Small and Medium En­ter­prises and Re­gional In­no­va­tion, Ja­panese As­so­ci­a­tion for Wa­ter En­ergy Re­cov­ery, Ja­pan Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try and Na­tional Fed­er­a­tion of Small Busi­ness As­so­ci­a­tions. A visit to Toy­ota Mo­tor Cor­po­ra­tion will also take place. The min­is­ter will be vis­it­ing Tokyo, Fukui pre­fec­ture and Nagoya. Ly­onpo has also been in­vited to visit the Na­tional Diet (Par­lia­ment) by the Speaker of House of Coun­cilors (Up­per House). Be­sides meet­ing with gov­ern­ment agen­cies and busi­nesses, the min­is­ter will also meet with mem­bers of the Ja­pan-Bhutan Friend­ship As­so­ci­a­tion and the Ja­pan-Bhutan Par­lia­men­tary Friend­ship As­so­ci­a­tion.

The min­is­ter is be­ing ac­com­pa­nied by the of­fi­cials from the Min­istry.
