MoEA minster on a bilateral goodwill and investment visit to Japan
The Minster for Economic Affairs Norbu Wangchuk will be visiting Japan from today till the 15h of March on the invitation of the Government of Japan. During the visit, the minister will be meeting with senior government officials of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to discuss ongoing co-operation and other bilateral issues. As part of the visit, there will be meetings with business associations to promote Bhutan as a new investment destination. The business associations include Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japanese Association for Water Energy Recovery, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and National Federation of Small Business Associations. A visit to Toyota Motor Corporation will also take place. The minister will be visiting Tokyo, Fukui prefecture and Nagoya. Lyonpo has also been invited to visit the National Diet (Parliament) by the Speaker of House of Councilors (Upper House). Besides meeting with government agencies and businesses, the minister will also meet with members of the Japan-Bhutan Friendship Association and the Japan-Bhutan Parliamentary Friendship Association.
The minister is being accompanied by the officials from the Ministry.
