Use youth power

Bhutan Times - - Editorial -

Even though youth forms the majority of the population in Bhutan but still they are lacking behind in terms of anything. The world is changing fast at a rapid speed and the youth has to keep paced to do something for the country or for them. It’s a 21st century and it is the youth that is considered the cream of the society.

Technologies which are more advanced are coming up every after year; to make work easier and productive. Youths are wanted to do something but are reluctant. They say tomorrow but remember tomorrow never comes. It’s today that youth need to show, use talent for the good of the country.

Youth are the future of our country. They are very lucky enough to be born in Bhutan where our kings have immense wisdom. Drugs are the main factor which has now a day has market and youths indulgence. “Say No to drugs young people”.

What people of developed countries have are with us and it’s just that they are developed and we are in developing stage but nothing is impossible. Please break the impossible word in three words it becomes,” I’m possible”. Mark this word. Never feel shy or hesitate to do any kind of job whether it is blue collar or any.

It’s an experience that counts; at least if youth has experience doing something, they will be recognized. Bhutan has just about 7, 50,000 population which is very less comparing to other countries. Youth it’s high time we make our country more productive.

We have resources, materials, etc. but no one is using their so called brain for what is to be done. Many youths find themselves playing video games; instead of that why don’t you indulge learning productive ideas which could be more effective than playing games.

Youth’s also dropout from their school and waste time and resources. Youth should do something productive work it’s only for our own nation. Our country is famous for Gross National Happiness but many people are aware of it.

We should urge youths to do something even not for a nation but for them. Thimphu is growing city which will be one of the most beautiful cities in the world and our youth should be ready to carry out any kind of task. We don’t have even cloths manufacturing factories which are very simple if we try it out.

Our neighboring country such as Nepal, India and Bangladesh are now in the run, let’s make our nation on top of the world. Bhutan is considered as a nation where Buddhism is revered. Youth must take in mind the philosophy of GNH and be a productive citizen.
