Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion in Paro

1April, 2015, Ugyen Pelri Palace, Paro: In a mes­sage granted for the Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion, His Majesty said:

“Where we live must be clean, safe, or­gan­ised, and beau­ti­ful, for na­tional in­tegrity, na­tional pride, and for our bright fu­ture. This too is na­tion build­ing.”

His Majesty The King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, and Mem- bers of the Royal Fam­ily graced the Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion, which was in­au­gu­rated by Her Majesty the Royal Grand­mother, as the Chief Guest.

The Prime Min­is­ter, min­is­ters and se­nior gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, also at­tended the ex­hi­bi­tion

The Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion, ini­ti­ated upon the Royal Com­mand of His Majesty The King, is en­vi­sioned to in­spire ap- pre­ci­a­tion for beau­ti­ful spa­ces, foster com­mu­nity vi­tal­ity, and en­cour­age the growth of a vi­brant en­trepreneur­ship in flori­cul­ture across the na­tion.

The first Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion is a cel­e­bra­tion of our unique en­vi­ron­men­tal and cul­tural her­itage with the sup­port and good­will of our cit­i­zens from all walks of life. It sym­bol­izes the strength of part­ner­ship and col­lab­o­ra­tion in defin­ing a new vi­sion that em­bod­ies wide rang­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties for our youth, florists and the econ­omy at large.

The ex­hi­bi­tion is ded­i­cated to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, as part of His Majesty’s 60th Birth An­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tions. It will hence­forth be held an­nu­ally.

Her Majesty Gya­lyum Tsh­er­ing Yang­don Wangchuck is the Royal Pa­tron for the Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hibi-

tion.

The ex­hi­bi­tion dis­plays cre­ative in­stal­la­tions in­cor­po­rat­ing flow­ers, as well as mod­els of some of the most his­toric Bhutanese struc­tures, such as Tak­t­shang and Pu­nakha Dzong.

Be­sides gov­ern­ment or­ga­ni­za­tions and armed forces, pri­vate nurs­eries and florists also par­tic­i­pated in the ex­hi­bi­tion

The ex­hi­bi­tion is open to the public, and concludes on 6th April.
