Fifth SAARC Health Min­is­ters Meet­ing

In­dia is go­ing to host the 5th SAARC Health Min­is­ters Meet­ing this week in New Delhi. The Min­is­ters will dis­cuss on key health is­sues in­clud­ing HIV/AIDS, preven­tion of com­mu­ni­ca­ble and non-com­mu­ni­ca­ble dis­eases, health in­fra­struc­ture, hu­man re­sources for health, im­mu­niza­tion and men­tal health. Be­fore the Min­is­ters meet on 8th April 2015, the 7th meet­ing of SAARC Ex­pert Group on HIV/AIDS, 5th Meet­ing of the SAARC Tech­ni­cal Com­mit­tee on Health and Pop­u­la­tion and the 5th Meet­ing of the SAARC Se­nior Of­fi­cials (Health Sec­re­taries) are sched­uled on 6th and 7th April 2015. Bhutan’s health min­is­ter Ly­onpo Tandin Wangchuk, Afghan health min­is­ter Firozud­din Feroz, Bangladeshi health min­is­ter Zahid Maleque, In­dian health Min­is­ter JP Nadda, Mal­dives’ health min­is­ter Ahmed Zuhoor, Nepal’s health min­is­ter Khaga Raj Ad­hikari, Pak­istani health min­is­ter Saira Afzal Tarar , and Sri Lankan health min­is­ter Ra­jitha Se­naratne would come to­gether to dis­cuss re­gional health chal­lenges and to strengthen col­lab­o­ra­tions.
