Her Majesty The Gya­lyum graces the close Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion

6April 2015, Paro: Her Majesty Gya­lyum Tsh­er­ing Yang­don Wangchuck of­fi­cially closed the Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion which was held at the Ugyen Pelri Palace grounds from 2-6 th April.

The Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion saw al­most 50,000 vis­i­tors in 5 days, with close to 22,000 vis­i­tors on 4th April alone.

Or­ga­nized upon the Royal Com­mand of His Majesty The King, the Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion en­vi­sions to in­spire ap­pre­ci­a­tion for beau­ti­ful spa­ces, foster com­mu­nity vi­tal­ity, and en­cour­age the growth of a vi­brant en­trepreneur­ship in flori­cul­ture.

In a spe­cial mes­sage granted for the Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion, His Majesty Com­manded: “Where we live must be clean, safe, or­ga­nized, and beau­ti­ful, for na­tional in­tegrity, na­tional pride, and for our bright fu­ture. This too is Na­tion Build­ing.”

Eight gar­den de­vel­op­ers par­tic­i­pated in the ex­hi­bi­tion and com­peted for the best gar­den, which was an­nounced to­day.

The par­tic­i­pants ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion on the suc­cess of the ex­hi­bi­tion, and noted that the Bhutanese peo­ple were very in­ter­ested in flow­ers. Most vis­i­tors bought plants or cut flow­ers at the ex­hi­bi­tion, and many ex­pressed how the beauty around them in­spired them.

The Royal Bhutan Flower Ex­hi­bi­tion 2015 is ded­i­cated to His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo, on the oc­ca­sion of His Majesty’s 60th Birth An­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tions. The ex­hi­bi­tion will be an an­nual event.
