PM meets del­e­ga­tion from Korea

Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay was called on by Mr. Park Byeong-Seug, Mem­ber of Na­tional As­sem­bly and del­e­ga­tion from the Repub­lic of Korea at the Gya­ly­ong Tshogkhang last Mon­day. Af­ter an ex­change of pleas­antries, Ly­onch­hen said Bhutan has en­joyed close co­op­er­a­tion and part­ner­ship span­ning over 28 years with South Korea. Ly­onch­hen also re­quested the del­e­ga­tion to con­sider Bhutan to be on its list of Em­ploy­ment Per­mit Sys­tem, so that Bhutan can send Bhutanese youth to work in Korea. Ly­onch­hen said that the youth who are sent to Korea would be able to in­cul­cate the good val­ues of sin­cer­ity and work ethics, and for which Korea is very well re­spected. Mr. Byeong Seug agreed to take up this is­sue to his gov­ern­ment in South Korea. Ly­onch­hen and Mr. Byeong Seug also ex­changed views on strength­en­ing bi­lat­eral re­la­tions and peo­ple-to-peo­ple con­tact by fos­ter­ing trade, pro­mot­ing in­vest­ment, agri­cul­ture, ed­u­ca­tion, IT and tourism among oth­ers. Ly­onch­hen thanked the del­e­ga­tion for Korea’s sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion in as­suag­ing sports and film­mak­ing ac­tiv­i­ties in Bhutan.
