Fifth session of the second parliament concludes
The Fifth Session of the Second Parliament concluded with members gathering around the Golden Throne to offer Tashi Moenlam prayer for long life of His Majesty the King, for peace and pros- perity in the country and happiness of the people. The closing ceremony was graced by His Majesty the King and Members of the Royal Family, senior government officials, representatives of the international agencies and the public attended the concluding session of the Parliament.
In his concluding address, the Speaker said that a total of five Bills have been passed in the joint sitting of which three have been submitted to His Majesty for the Royal assent. The Speaker also said that this session has passed the national budget for the financial year 2015-16 and endorsed Supplementary Budget Appropriation Bill for financial year 2014-15. The House also endorsed boundaries and areas of 15 Dzongkhag Thromdes and 18 Yenlag Thromdes.
The Minister for Labour and Human Resources, the National Council Member from Bumthang and the member of Drametse Ngatshang constituency expressed their appreciations to His Majesty the King and the Gyaltsuen. The Speaker on behalf of Parliament also expressed his gratitude to Their Majesties for their noble guidance and wisdom granted to the people during their Majesties recent visit to different part of the country.
Further, the Speaker said that, the 5th Session had been able to conclude successfully by the blessings of the of the Triple Gem and due to the noble guidance of His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo, prayers of various religious institutions under the leadership of His Holiness the Je Khenpo, collective merit of the Bhutanese people and the support and cooperation rendered by the Members of Parliament.
The concluding ceremony ended with the refreshment served at the Gyelyong Tshokhang courtyard.
