Fifth ses­sion of the sec­ond par­lia­ment con­cludes

The Fifth Ses­sion of the Sec­ond Par­lia­ment con­cluded with mem­bers gath­er­ing around the Golden Throne to of­fer Tashi Moen­lam prayer for long life of His Majesty the King, for peace and pros- per­ity in the coun­try and hap­pi­ness of the peo­ple. The clos­ing cer­e­mony was graced by His Majesty the King and Mem­bers of the Royal Fam­ily, se­nior gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the in­ter­na­tional agen­cies and the public at­tended the con­clud­ing ses­sion of the Par­lia­ment.

In his con­clud­ing ad­dress, the Speaker said that a to­tal of five Bills have been passed in the joint sit­ting of which three have been sub­mit­ted to His Majesty for the Royal as­sent. The Speaker also said that this ses­sion has passed the na­tional bud­get for the fi­nan­cial year 2015-16 and en­dorsed Sup­ple­men­tary Bud­get Ap­pro­pri­a­tion Bill for fi­nan­cial year 2014-15. The House also en­dorsed bound­aries and ar­eas of 15 Dzongkhag Thromdes and 18 Yen­lag Thromdes.

The Min­is­ter for Labour and Hu­man Re­sources, the Na­tional Coun­cil Mem­ber from Bumthang and the mem­ber of Dram­etse Ngat­shang con­stituency ex­pressed their ap­pre­ci­a­tions to His Majesty the King and the Gyalt­suen. The Speaker on be­half of Par­lia­ment also ex­pressed his grat­i­tude to Their Majesties for their noble guid­ance and wis­dom granted to the peo­ple dur­ing their Majesties re­cent visit to dif­fer­ent part of the coun­try.

Fur­ther, the Speaker said that, the 5th Ses­sion had been able to con­clude suc­cess­fully by the bless­ings of the of the Triple Gem and due to the noble guid­ance of His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo, prayers of var­i­ous re­li­gious in­sti­tu­tions un­der the lead­er­ship of His Ho­li­ness the Je Khenpo, col­lec­tive merit of the Bhutanese peo­ple and the sup­port and co­op­er­a­tion ren­dered by the Mem­bers of Par­lia­ment.

The con­clud­ing cer­e­mony ended with the re­fresh­ment served at the Gye­ly­ong Tshokhang court­yard.
