Ambassador- Designate of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam calls on the Chairperson
The Ambassador-designate of Socialist Republic of Vietnam to India, Nepal & Bhutan, H.E Ton Sing Thanh, called on the Chairperson of the National Council of Bhutan last Friday. The Chairperson cordially welcomed the ambassador on behalf of the National Council of Bhutan. The chairperson said that visit of H.E. Ton Sing Thanh was historic since he was visiting Bhutan in his capacity as the first ambassador of Vietnam. He expressed his hope that the visit will deepen the bonds of friendship between the two countries and enhance interaction between the two sides at various levels. His Excellency Ton Sing Thanh said that Vietnam had lots to learn from Bhutan in terms of culture, environment, unique national dress and architecture and expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation in the areas of tourism, trade and people to people exchanges. He also highlighted the shared heritage of history and culture emanating from Buddhism. The delegation will be departing from the country tomorrow.
