Guinness World Record certificates awarded
28 June Thimphu. Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck awarded the Guinness World Record’s certificates to 100 volunteers for their achievements followed by certificate to Official stewards, event partners, media partners, PICSA staff, Forestry officials involved in the plantation project and also to the officials who had rendered support to the plantation project.
The second June 2015 was a very special day for the Bhutanese people. The holiest day of the year celebrated the 41st Anniversary of the coronation of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo coinciding with Social Forestry Day. On this very auspicious day the 100 volunteers had set a Guinness World Record by planting 49, 672 tree saplings in one hour beneath the feet of the Buddha Dordenma statue and dedicated it to the 60th Birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.
“We have presented His Majesty, a profound birthday gift; worthy of the champion of the earth” Highlighted Her Majestey the Queen Mother, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. During the event Her Majestey applauded and thanked everyone involved for contributing to the Nations triumph, the Guinness World Record. Her Majesty also stated that the record as ‘land mark achievement of our nation.’ She said ‘what is most gratifying is we have shown the world and most importantly ourselves of what we are capable of when we believe in a cause and work collectively.”
Her Majesty thanked unstinting support of Prime Minister of Bhutan, Agriculture Minister and the devoted officials and staff of Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, Ministry of Finance and the PISCA staff for their grandest of ideas.
Finally the gathering took the privilege to vow to the ultimate patriot His Majesty the fourth Druk gyalpo for moving the Bhutan’s destiny to unimaginable heights and to the guidance and wisdom of the His Majesty the Fifth King who lends to a brighter future.
