Bhutan says goodbye to Czech Ambassador
The Ambassador of Czech Republic to Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Miloslav Stasek was met by Hon. Speaker Jigme Zangpo and Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang to bid goodbye upon the completion of his tenure in Bhutan.
According to the press release from the Office of the Prime Minister, Lyonchhen congratulated the ambassador for successful completion of his tenure and thanked him for his constructive role in deepening relations between Bhutan and the Czech Republic.
The leaders spoke of, among others, furthering contacts between the two nations such as promoting people-to-people connections via exhibitions and trainings.
Lyonchhen conveyed that he has hopes that the cordial relations would continue to strengthen overtime. Lyonchhen also thanked the ambassador for his personal interest and guidance especially in the area of development assistance rendered to Bhutan over the years.
Expressing his admiration for Bhutan, the Ambassador expressed that he was fortunate to be appointed as the Ambassador to Bhutan. He further expressed that during his ambassadorship, the two countries have seen lot of exchanges including high- level visits to each other’s country. Mr. Stasek conveyed that Czech Republic will support Bhutan Football Federation and the Royal University of Bhutan among other agencies through various programmes. The Ambassador underlined that; he would continue to strengthen relations between the two countries.
The Hon. Speaker congratulated the Ambassador on his successful tenure and highlighted that Mr. Stasek was the founder and architect of friendly relations that the two countries enjoyed. Expressing his appreciation to the Ambassador, Speaker emphasized that Bhutan’s relation with the Czech Republic has benefited Bhutan in various areas of cooperation in just over two years of time.
Meanwhile, Bhutan established diplomatic relations with Czech Republic in December 2011.
