His Majesty ap­points Privy Coun­cil Mem­bers and Dzongdags

Three dzongdags were also ap­pointed for Mon­gar, Tashiyangtse, and Zhem­gang dzongkhags. Mon­gar Dzongdag Ugen Sonam for­merly served as a Zim­pon Woma (Deputy Cham­ber­lain) at the Of­fice of the Gyalpoi ZIm­pon. Zhem­gang Dzongdag Harka Singh Ta­mang was pre­vi­ously the ex­ec­u­tive sec­re­tary at the Gele­phu Thromde. Tashiyangtse Dzongdag Thuji Tsh­er­ing was pre­vi­ously the ex­ec­u­tive sec­re­tary at the Sam­drup Jongkhar Thromde. Dzongdags are ap­pointed by His Majesty upon the rec­om­men­da­tion of the Prime Min­is­ter, who re­ceives nom­i­na­tions from the Royal Civil Ser­vice Com­mis­sion.

20 July 2015, Tashich­hod­zong: His Majesty The King con­ferred the or­ange scarf to Dasho San­gay Wangchug of the Privy Coun­cil, and granted dhar to ap­point the Privy Coun­cilor of the Privy Coun­cil, and three dzongdags. Dasho San­gay Wangchug, who will take over as Deputy Chair­man of the Privy Coun­cil fol­low­ing the re­tire­ment of Dasho Nado Rinchen, was con­ferred the or­ange scarf, which is equiv­a­lent to the rank of deputy min­is­ter. Dasho Bharat Ta­mang Yonzen, the for­mer Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of the Bhutan Power Cor­po­ra­tion, was ap­pointed Privy Coun­cilor.

Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay at­tended the ground break­ing cer­e­mony of the con­struc­tion of Dam­chu-Haa Link road yesterday. Pro­ject Dantak is con­struct­ing the road. Ly­onch­hen thanked the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia, Pro­ject Dantak and Bor­der Road for help­ing Bhutan get con­nected. In­dian Am­bas­sador Gau­tam Bam­bawale, Lt. Gen­eral of Bor­der Road, Ly­onpo Dorji Cho­den and Ly­onpo D.N Dhungyel were also present at the event.
