His Majesty vis­its Lungnyi ge­wog

29- July, 2015, Paro: It was a spe­cial day for the peo­ple of Wochu and other vil­lages in Paro’s Lungnyi Ge­wog, who wel­comed His Majesty The King to their homes and fields, be­fore en­joy­ing a Public Tokha granted by His Majesty, to­gether with their friends, neigh­bours, and their King.

His Majesty walked through the vil­lages vis­it­ing the homes of the peo­ple, the com­mu­nity lhakhang and the nak­t­shang, and ob­serv­ing the peo­ple at work in their paddy fields. Among the homes that His Majesty vis­ited was of the vil­lage black­smith, who still uses an­cient tra­di­tional meth­ods to forge tra­di­tional swords and knives.

Dur­ing an Au­di­ence and Tokha granted to the peo­ple of Lungnyi Ge­wog, His Majesty shared the vi­sion for our coun­try, and lis­tened to the peo­ple’s as­pi­ra­tions. The peo­ple pre­sented tra­di­tional dances and songs, in­clud­ing the Wochu­pai Zhey. A small group of His Majesty’s Kidu Mo­bile Med­i­cal Unit per­son­nel con­ducted med­i­cal check-ups for the peo­ple. In the morn­ing, His Majesty granted an Au­di­ence to the stu­dents and fac­ulty at the Paro Col­lege of Ed­u­ca­tion.
