Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag provided with 40% more budget during the current Five Year Plan
The total budget allocated by the government for Wangdue Dzongkhang during the 11Th Five Year Plan is Nu. 213 billion. This is 40% more in comparison to the budget laid out in the 10th Five Year Plan.
Progress, issues and challenges faced dur- ing the implementation of the current five year plan was presented to Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay and the Cabinet Ministers by Dzongda and Gups from different Gewogs under Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag during a day long meeting of the Mid Term Review for the Dzongkhag last Thursday. There are 15 Gewogs under Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag.
The Prime Minister announced that all efforts must be made towards realizing a common goal and achieving the overall objective of the current five year plan on self reliance and inclusive green socioeconomic development. The success or failure of different activities are measured as per the 60 key performance indicators
To commemorate the 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the midterm review for all Dzongkhags is being conducted ahead of time. The mid term review commenced in Punakha Dzongkhag on the 19th of August, 2015.
Lyonchhen conveyed the gratitude of the government and people of Bhutan to the Government of India and other development partners for their aid and support towards achieving the plans and programs of the 11th Five Year Plan.
