Wang­due Pho­drang Dzongkhag pro­vided with 40% more bud­get dur­ing the cur­rent Five Year Plan

The to­tal bud­get al­lo­cated by the gov­ern­ment for Wang­due Dzongkhang dur­ing the 11Th Five Year Plan is Nu. 213 bil­lion. This is 40% more in com­par­i­son to the bud­get laid out in the 10th Five Year Plan.

Progress, is­sues and chal­lenges faced dur- ing the im­ple­men­ta­tion of the cur­rent five year plan was pre­sented to Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay and the Cab­i­net Min­is­ters by Dzongda and Gups from dif­fer­ent Gewogs un­der Wang­due Pho­drang Dzongkhag dur­ing a day long meet­ing of the Mid Term Re­view for the Dzongkhag last Thurs­day. There are 15 Gewogs un­der Wang­due Pho­drang Dzongkhag.

The Prime Min­is­ter an­nounced that all ef­forts must be made to­wards re­al­iz­ing a com­mon goal and achiev­ing the over­all ob­jec­tive of the cur­rent five year plan on self re­liance and in­clu­sive green so­cioe­co­nomic de­vel­op­ment. The suc­cess or fail­ure of dif­fer­ent ac­tiv­i­ties are mea­sured as per the 60 key per­for­mance in­di­ca­tors

To com­mem­o­rate the 60th Birth An­niver­sary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the midterm re­view for all Dzongkhags is be­ing con­ducted ahead of time. The mid term re­view com­menced in Pu­nakha Dzongkhag on the 19th of Au­gust, 2015.

Ly­onch­hen con­veyed the grat­i­tude of the gov­ern­ment and peo­ple of Bhutan to the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia and other de­vel­op­ment part­ners for their aid and sup­port to­wards achiev­ing the plans and pro­grams of the 11th Five Year Plan.
