Mamata Banerjee: If you’re OK, we’re OK
The visiting Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, called upon the Foreign Minister, Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, to discuss issues of bilateral interest on Friday.
She said she was honoured to meet Their Majesties the King and the Queen and the other Royal Family members on Tuesday.
“It was a unique meeting,” she said. She believed that her visit was very meaningful.

garded Mamata’s visit to Bhutan as being very significant since Bhutan shares strong relation of trade, economic, education, tourism and culture with West Bengal, which borders Bhutan.
“Her visit will not only will further strengthen friendship between two countries but also IndoBhutan relations,” said Lyonpo Damcho.
In the press conference aftermath of the meeting with the Lyonpo Damcho, the Chief Minister said that their discussion ranged from security to economic cooperation. She said West Bengal and Bhutan will continue discussion on the matters that concerns both the countries.
She was very detailed list the areas of cooperation. “We will work together in various sectors like educa- tion, tourism and civil aviation,” she said.
“As friends we have to discuss all the issues,” said Mamata, exhibiting her generous smile. “If you are OK, we are OK. If we are OK, you are OK.”
She also indicated that she had detailed discus- sion with Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay on areas of mutual interest to both the countries.
She seems to have been touched by the tranquil environment and people of Bhutan. “Bhutan is a beautiful and peace loving people,” she said.
