A grand cel­e­bra­tion ahead

The na­tion will ob­served three days of cel­e­bra­tions with much fes­tiv­i­ties and gaiety start­ing from 9h Novem­ber to the 11th of Novem­ber co­in­cid­ing with the 60th Birth An­niver­sary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.

How­ever His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo has made it clear to the or­ga­ni­za­tion that the em­pha­sis should be on na­tion build­ing rather than the birth­day party.

The main fo­cus on the cel­e­bra­tion will be on the achieve­ments of the fourth Druk Gyalpo tak­ing into con­sid­er­a­tion of the cur­rent ini­tia­tives and plan for the fu­ture based on the vi­sion, wis­dom and di­rec­tives of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.

The spe­cial co­or­di­na­tor for the cel­e­bra­tion has made it very clear that every­thing we have is be­cause of His Majesty. A Goem­poi Tongt­shog Kurim by the 100 monks from the cen­tral monas­tic body at the Tashi chhod­zong and Nyen­ney Yen­lag Gye Pai Dompa at the Ten­drel Thang by the Dorji Lopen will be per­formed on the 7th of Novem­ber.

As a part of the cel­e­bra­tion His Majesty the King will present one statue of Chen­rizig to each of the 205 gewogs en­abling peo­ple to pay homage to the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. The statue should be kept in a tem­ple in a ge­wog that has been mu­tu­ally agreed.

The most im­por­tant part of the cel­e­bra­tion will be the pre­sen­ta­tion of guard of hon­ors for three times to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalp by 1,000 army per­son­als on the fi­nal day of the cel­e­bra­tion. A Zabten ded­i­cated to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo will be the high­lighted of the pro­gram will be of­fered col­lec­tively by the rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the Drat­shang and Ch­hodey and rep­re­sen­ta­tives from var­i­ous sec­tors of the so­ci­ety.

Var­i­ous cul­tural pro­grams by the school stu­dents and royal academy of per­form­ing arts will also be the part of the cel­e­bra­tion and a trea­sure hunt pro­gram in Moth­ithang , Dechench­hol­ing and Nazhoen Pelri is planned for the 9th of Novem­ber.

A marathon for the peo­ple above 60 will be held on the 10th of Novem­ber 2015 at the clock tower square and a live mu­si­cal pro­grams will be per­formed live in the Cen­te­nary park, Dechench­hol­ing , Changjiji , Clock Tower and Moth­ithang.

An­other im­por­tant part of the grand cel­e­bra­tion will be the cut­ting the birth­day cake at the three dif­fer­ent lo­ca­tions on the 11th of Novem­ber and var­i­ous en­ter­tain­ment pro­grams by the pri­vate en­ter­tain­ment houses at the same time.

As the na­tion pre­pares for the grand cel­e­bra­tion of the 60th Birth An­niver­sary of our Great King who has given so much to us and had left so lit­tle for him. Let us come to­gether and pay our hum­ble re­spects to our Great King.
