60th Birth An­niver­sary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo ob­served in Delhi

he Royal Bhutanese Em­bassy, New Delhi joined the na­tion in cel­e­brat­ing the spe­cial oc­ca­sion of the 60th Birth An­niver­sary of the His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck on 11th Novem­ber 2015 at the Royal Bhutanese em­bassy ground. More than 500 Bhutanese in­clud­ing Bhutanese work­ing in Delhi, Bhutanese stu­dents study­ing in and around Delhi, Haryana, Ra­jasthan and Pres­i­dents of the Bhutanese stu­dents as­so­ci­a­tion from all over In­dia par­tic­i­pated in the cel­e­bra­tions.

The cel­e­bra­tions com­menced at 8 AM with the hoist­ing of the na­tional flag, singing of the na­tional an­them and pre­sent­ing of the guard of hon­our by the Royal Bhutan Army per­son­nel sta­tioned at the Royal Bhutanese Em­bassy.

The pro­gram then moved to the cel­e­bra­tion grounds where the Royal Bhutanese em­bassy fam­ily was joined by guests and stu­dents. The pro­gram started with the na­tional an­them and Zhabten for His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. The Bhutan’s am­bas­sador to In­dia Ma­jor Gen­eral V. Nam­gay ad­dressed the gath­er­ing on the im­por­tance of the oc­ca­sion and the- recorded ad­dress of His Majesty the King at the Changlimethang was broad­casted for the gath­er­ing.

This was fol­lowed by cul­tural pro­grams in­clud­ing mask dance, dance by staff of the Royal Bhutanese Em­bassy and dance by Bhutanese stu­dents study­ing in var­i­ous Uni­ver­si­ties in In­dia. Cel­e­bra­tions also in­cluded Dzongkha speech com­pe­ti­tion and games.

The cel­e­bra­tions came to an end with all those present join­ing the na­tion at the Trashi Le­bay to pray for the long life of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.
