Indian Ambassador’s scholarship for vocational courses
The Indian Embassy in Bhutan has introduced a numbers of vocational courses in India. The Indian Ambassador’s Scholarship Scheme sponsors the scholarship for the period 2015-16
There are long-term courses and short-term courses. The long-term courses include Diploma in construction management, which demands a qualification of class 12th pass and Diploma in food & beverage service, which requires 10+2 or equivalent with English as one of the subjects. The long-term courses are for a period of one year.
The short term courses which is for six months include electrician, plumbing, carpentry, architectural assistantship which require a minimum qualification of 10th pass, Diploma in baking, confectionary and cake art with a minimum qualification of 12th pass and professional Diploma in Cosmetology which requires secondary level certificate.
This is a first kind of scholarship for technical students in Bhutan. The Indian ambassador to Bhutan Gautam Bambawale met with the selected students on Thursday in Thimphu.
