# Thimphu elects its Thromde representatives

With the successful Thromde tshogde election conducted by ECB last Monday, now formal Thimphu Thrompon Mr. Kinlay Dorjee will be the next Thimphu Thrompon for another five years.

He was a lone candidate contesting for the Thrompon candidates. During the Second Local Government Election he was re-elected and he got 2104 vote through electronic voting machine (EVM) and three votes through postal ballot which makes to 2107 out of 7278 registered voters.

Similarly, Thimphu Thromde Thuemi, Mr. Kinley will be the next Thromde Thuemi since he is the only candidate contesting for the Thromde Thuemi. While voting “Yes” or “No”, he got 1918 through EVM and two through Postal Ballot which makes to 1920 “yes” votes out of 7278 registered voters and elected as Thimphu Thromde Thuemi.

Similarly, Mr. Ugyen will be the Tshogpa for Dechenchholing-Taba Demkhong. He got 194 “yes” votes through EVM and one “yes” vote through postal ballot which makes to 195 votes out of 616 registered voters.

From Changgangkha Demkhong, Mr. Rinzin Dorji was elected as Tshogpa. He got 203 “yes” vote through EVM which makes to total of 203 votes out of 805 registered voters.

Mr. Ugyen Penjor was elected as Tshogpa for Jungshina-Kawajangsa Demkhong. He got 335 “yes” votes through EVM and one vote through postal ballot which makes to total of 336 votes out of 1252 registered voters.

Similarly, Mrs. Dorji Dema was elected as Tshogpa for Motithang Demkhong. She got 113 votes through EVM which makes to 113 votes out of 457 registered voters.

Likewise, Mr. Kuenga Yonten will be the Tshogpa for Norzin Demkhong. He got 282 “yes” votes through EVM which makes to 282 votes out of 1412 registered voters.

Mrs. Phub Dema will be the Tshogpa of Chang Bangdu-Olakha Demkhong. She got 536 “yes” votes through EVM and one “yes” through postal ballot which makes to 536 “yes” votes out of 1869 registered voters. And finally, Mr. Namgay Tshering was elected as Tshogpa for Babesa Demkhong. He got 326 “yes” votes through EVM which makes to 326 “yes” votes out of 867 registered voters.
