PM meets the new In­dian Am­bas­sador

Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay met the Am­bas­sador of In­dia to Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Jaideep Sarkar at the Gya­ly­ong Tshogkhang last Tues­day.

Wel­com­ing him, Ly­onch­hen con­grat­u­lated the new am­bas­sador for hav­ing pre­sented his cre­den- tials to His Majesty the King ear­lier to­day.

Ly­onch­hen and Am­bas­sador Sarkar agreed that both coun­tries share a deep re­la­tion­ship that is not con­fined by political bound­aries but nur­tured and strength­ened over the decades by the peo­ple of the Bhutan and In­dia. Am­bas­sador Sarkar con- veyed that he viewed this re­la­tion­ship with a great op­ti­mism and was happy to ob­serve the peo­ple of the two coun­tries shar­ing sim­i­lar as­pi­ra­tions and dreams.

The two lead­ers dis­cussed pro­mot­ing and ex­plor­ing dif­fer­ent path­ways of co­op­er­a­tion to ac­com­mo­date newer ar­eas of mu­tual eco­nomic in­ter­ests. The Prime Min­is­ter ex­pressed that the friend­ship be­tween Bhutan and In­dia, in­sti­tuted by the re­spec­tive lead­ers have grown stronger since the in­cep­tion of the First Five Year Plan. Ly­onch­hen ex­tended his ap­pre­ci­a­tion to the Am­bas­sador for In­dia’s as­sis­tance in bring- ing about so­cio-eco­nomic de­vel­op­ments in the coun­try and said that Bhutan con­tin­ues to reap vis­i­ble ben­e­fits of good­will and sup­port from GoI.

Ly­onch­hen fur­ther con­grat­u­lated the Am­bas­sador for as­sum­ing this very im­por­tant post and wished him a very suc­cess­ful ten­ure.
