30th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Bhutan
This year, 2016, marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between and Japan and the Kingdom of Bhutan.
On this occasion, various commemorating events are being held in both countries. It is expected that the friendly relationship between the two countries will be further strengthened through such events so that the mutual exchanges at various levels and fields will be further deepened.
A short-term exchange programme between SEISA University, Japan and Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan has been officially recognized as one of the commemorative events celebrating the 30th anniver- sary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and kingdom of Bhutan.
The SEISA-RTC student exchange programme is a part of the academic partnership between the Royal Thimphu College and SEISA University, Japan. Most recently, 10 RTC students accompanied by a faculty member were in Japan on a 10-day cultural exchange programme from January 31st- February 9th, 2016. The cultural tour provided the students with opportunities to attend sessions ranging from Japanese traditions to some of the latest technological developments.
The SEISA- RTC MoU was signed in 2010, and since then 52 RTC students had the opportunity to visit and learn about Japan every year.
Similarly, 29 SEISA students have thus far visited RTC. RTC will be further hosting 12 students and a faculty member of SEISA this March as a part of the exchange programme and in commemorating of the 30th Anniversary celebrations.
