Mo U signed be­tween Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion and Royal Bhutan Army

With the sign­ing of Mem­o­ran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing (Mo U) be­tween the Goon­gloen Gongma Ba­too Tsh­er­ing and Sherig Ly­onpo Mingbo Dukpa in the pres­ence of the Prime Min­is­ter, Chundu Cen­tral School in Haa Dzongkhag is for­mally handed over to the Royal Bhutan Army yes­ter­day. The Joint Work­ing Group con­sist­ing of rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion and the Royal Bhutan Army was formed fol­low­ing a meet­ing with Goon­gloen Gongma and Sherig Ly­onpo in Oc­to­ber last year to de­velop a model school that will be man­aged and ad­min­is­tered by the Armed Forces.

Dur­ing the sign­ing of Mo U, Ly­onch­hen said that the con­cept of Cen­ter School is not new in our Coun­try and nor is the con­cept of School run by Armed Forces. Thank­ing Goon­gloen and the Ten­sung for agree­ing to man­age the school, Ly­onch­hen said that this Cen­ter School must thrive to be the best school in the coun­try thereby set­ting ex­am­ples or be­ing a role model for other Cen­ter School. The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion and Dzongkha Ad­min­is­tra­tions should not in­ter­fere into how the school is be­ing man­aged Ly­onch­hen added.

Goon­gloen in­formed the gath­er­ing that due to the na­ture of the job, most of the armed per­son­nel are not able to guide their chil­dren in stud­ies and with the trans­fers of their par­ents from one place to an­other the chil­dren also have to change schools fre­quently. Within one or two years, we will try our best to pro­duce re­sult, Goon­gloen added.

The Sherig Ly­onpo said that the Armed Forces are known for set­ting highest stan­dard.
