Mo U signed between Ministry of Education and Royal Bhutan Army
With the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (Mo U) between the Goongloen Gongma Batoo Tshering and Sherig Lyonpo Mingbo Dukpa in the presence of the Prime Minister, Chundu Central School in Haa Dzongkhag is formally handed over to the Royal Bhutan Army yesterday. The Joint Working Group consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Education and the Royal Bhutan Army was formed following a meeting with Goongloen Gongma and Sherig Lyonpo in October last year to develop a model school that will be managed and administered by the Armed Forces.
During the signing of Mo U, Lyonchhen said that the concept of Center School is not new in our Country and nor is the concept of School run by Armed Forces. Thanking Goongloen and the Tensung for agreeing to manage the school, Lyonchhen said that this Center School must thrive to be the best school in the country thereby setting examples or being a role model for other Center School. The Ministry of Education and Dzongkha Administrations should not interfere into how the school is being managed Lyonchhen added.
Goongloen informed the gathering that due to the nature of the job, most of the armed personnel are not able to guide their children in studies and with the transfers of their parents from one place to another the children also have to change schools frequently. Within one or two years, we will try our best to produce result, Goongloen added.
The Sherig Lyonpo said that the Armed Forces are known for setting highest standard.
