Jigme Wangchuck Power Train­ing in­sti­tute in­au­gu­rated

Ly­onpo, Ngeema San­gay Tshempo, Min­istry of Labour and Hu­man Re­sources graced the con­se­cra­tion cer­e­mony of the Jigme Wangchuck Power Train­ing In­sti­tute as the chief guest at the Tech­ni­cal Train­ing In­sti­tute-Dek­il­ing, Sarpang last Wed­nes­day. The in­sti­tute was built with the to­tal fund­ing as­sis­tance of Nu.332 mil­lion from the Govern­ment of In­dia (GOI). Fur­ther, the GOI has com­mit­ted to sup­port JWPTI with Nu.337 mil­lion dur­ing the 11FYP to aug­ment the ex­ist­ing in­sti­tute into a Power Train­ing In­sti­tute. The in­sti­tute was in­au­gu­rated by the Pres­i­dent of In­dia, Shri Pranab Mukher­jee, dur­ing his his­toric state visit to Bhutan in Novem­ber 2014 and it be­came op­er­a­tional since Au­gust last year. Cur­rently, there are 240 trainees un­der­go­ing vo­ca­tional skills train­ing in ma­sonry, plumb­ing, me­chan­i­cal, car­pen­try, weld­ing and up­hol­stery. The cer­e­mony was at­tended by the Deputy Chief of Mis­sion of In­dian Em­bassy, Shri Bish­wadip Dey and Mrs. Dey, Coun­sel­lor Shri Sub­rata Das, mem­bers of par­lia­ment, Dasho Dzongda, Lam Neten, Gups, rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the dif­fer­ent agen­cies and the min­istry.
