Med­i­cal team re­ceive au­di­ence at Lingkana

His Majesty The King per­son­ally thanked the med­i­cal team who served dur­ing the Royal Birth of His Royal High­ness The Gyalsey, and con­veyed ap­pre­ci­a­tion to the en­tire med­i­cal fra­ter­nity of Bhutan for their tire­less, unend­ing and ex­cel­lent ser­vices to the coun­try, dur­ing an au­di­ence to the team and health rep­re­sen­ta­tives at the Lingkana Palace on the 15th of May,2016.

The med­i­cal team, com­pris­ing of doc­tors and health staff of the Min­istry of Health, has also been in­ti­mately in­volved in pro­vid­ing post-natal care.

Be­sides the med­i­cal team, rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the health sec­tor, and His Majesty’s Kidu Mo­bile Med­i­cal Unit team were in­vited to tea at the Lingkana Palace, coin­cid­ing with His Royal High­ness turn­ing a hun­dred days old.

The Kidu Mo­bile Med­i­cal Unit, com­pris­ing mainly of doc­tors and health staff from the Royal Bhutan Army, trav­els to re­mote ar­eas within Bhutan, set­ting up med­i­cal camps to pro­vide ser­vices to peo­ple liv­ing in the more in­ac­ces­si­ble parts of Bhutan. Also among those in­vited were Dasho Dr. Tandin Dorji and Dr. Leki Wangdi, who at­tended to His Majesty as a Prince.

The group re­ceived au­di­ence with His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyalt­suen, and of­fered Tashi Lekd­har to His Royal High­ness.

His Royal High­ness The Gyalsey was born in Lingkana Palace on 5th Fe­bru­ary 2016.

The Pres­i­dent of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck Na­tional Re­fer­ral Hos­pi­tal, Lhab Dorji, de­scribed the op­por­tu­nity to pro­vide med­i­cal care and ser­vice dur­ing the Royal Birth as a sin­gu­lar hon­our for the med­i­cal team, and by ex­ten­sion the en­tire Bhutanese med­i­cal fra­ter­nity.

“That our own doc­tors, nurses, and health per­son­nel served dur­ing the Royal Birth is an in­di­ca­tion of how far we have pro­gressed as a na­tion. It is a proud mo­ment and an achieve­ment for us work­ing in the health sec­tor,” he said.

The Health Min­is­ter added that the Royal Au­di­ence and His Majesty’s com­men­da­tion for the med­i­cal team as well as all med­i­cal per­son­nel work­ing across the coun­try would serve to greatly in­spire the med­i­cal fra­ter­nity in their work.
