HM Ap­points Am­bas­sadors, Dzongdags

27 May 2016, Tashich­hod­zong: His Majesty The King granted Dhar to ap­point Bhutan’s Am­bas­sadors to Bangladesh and Thai­land, as well as the Dzongdags for Da­gana, Tashigang, Sam­drup Jongkhar and Lhuentse.

Sonam Tob­den Rab­gye, for­merly the head of the Pol­icy and Plan­ning Di­vi­sion of the For­eign Min­istry, is the new Am­bas­sador of Bhutan to Bangladesh, and Tshe­wang C. Dorji, pre­vi­ously the chief of Re­gional Or­ga­ni­za­tions Di­vi­sion of the For­eign Min­istry has been ap­pointed the Am­bas­sador of Bhutan to Thai­land.

Phintsho Cho­den, the for­mer di­rec­tor of the Depart­ment of Youth and Sports, has been ap­pointed the Da­gana Dzongdag and Chekey Gyelt­shen, for­merly the di­rec­tor of the Na­tional Assem­bly Sec­re­tar­iat, has been ap­pointed as the new Tashigang Dzongdag,

Tharchin Lhendup, who was work­ing as the ex­ec­u­tive sec­re­tary of the Phuentshol­ing Thromde, is the new Sam­drup Jongkhar Dzongdag, and Jam­bay Wangchuk, who served as the di­rec­tor of the Armed Forces School Project, is the new Lhuentse Dzongdag.

In ac­cor­dance with Ar­ti­cle 2.19 of the Con­sti­tu­tion of the King­dom of Bhutan, His Majesty The King ap­points Am­bas­sadors and Dzongdags on the rec­om­men­da­tion of the Prime Min­is­ter who ob­tains nom­i­na­tions from the Royal Civil Ser­vice Com­mis­sion.
