His Majesty grants au­di­ence to Princess of Thai­land at Tashich­hod­zong

At the in­vi­ta­tion of His Majesty the king, Her Royal High­ness Princess Maha Chakri Sirind­horn of Thai­land vis­ited Bhutan from 23-26 May 2016. HRH was ac­com­pa­nied by the am­bas­sador of Thai­land to Bhutan and other of­fi­cials of the Thai govern­ment. HRH has been sup­port­ing agri­cul­tural pro­grams in six schools in Bhutan. These pro­grams have helped to im­prove nu­tri­tion and food se­cu­rity in the schools. HRH has also been pro­vid­ing schol­ar­ships to Bhutanese teach­ers and ed­u­ca­tion­ists to un­dergo train­ing and higher stud­ies in Thai­land. His Majesty The King granted an Au­di­ence to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirind­horn of Thai­land at the Tashich­hod­zong on the 24th of May, 2016. The Princess was es­corted to the Dzong in a tra­di­tional Chip­drel cer­e­mony to re­ceive the Au­di­ence with His Majesty. His Majesty and the Princess of­fered prayers and lit 1,000 but­ter lamps for the good health and long life of the King of Thai­land His Majesty Bhu­mi­bol Adulyadej at the Grand Kuen­rey of the Tashich­hod­zong. Af­ter that His Majesty and Her Majesty the Gyalt­suen hosted a pri­vate din­ner for Her Royal High­ness at the Lingkana Palace. On the same day Ly­onch­hen hosted a Lun­cheon in hon­our of HRH and en­tourage. This is the first visit by Her Royal High­ness to Bhutan who is renowned for her hu­man­i­tar­ian works in Thai­land and in other coun­tries. The visit will fur­ther strengthen the ties of good­will and friend­ship be­tween Bhutan and Thai­land
