Af­ter at­tend­ing the in­au­gu­ral cer­e­mony of 7th Ses­sion of the Sec­ond Par­lia­ment in Thim­phu, Ly­onch­hen ar­rived in Kolkata last Thurs­day af­ter­noon to at­tend the swear­ing– in cer­e­mony of Mamata Ban­er­jee as the Chief Min­is­ter of West Ben­gal Con­vey­ing the best wishes of His Majesty the King and the Gyalt­suen and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo to Mamata Ban­er­jee, Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay con­grat­u­lated Didi on her re­sound­ing vic­tory as the Chief Min­is­ter of West Ben­gal. Of­fer­ing her the ‘Tashi Khadar’ the Prime Min­is­ter said that he was happy to be in Kolkata to wish Didi in per­son. Mamata Didi thanked the Prime Min­is­ter for ac­cept­ing her in­vi­ta­tion de­spite his busy sched­ule and said that this was a clear in­di­ca­tion of the tremen­dous good­will be­tween Bhutan and West Ben­gal. She said this re­la­tion has been grow­ing rapidly. Ly­onch­hen Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay also met and in­ter­acted with the Gover­nor of West Ben­gal, Cab­i­net Min­is­ters, Min­is­ters, Mem­bers of the Leg­isla­tive Assem­bly and other Se­nior Govern­ment Of­fi­cials dur­ing/af­ter the swear­ing-in cer­e­mony. The swear­ing-in cer­e­mony took place yes­ter­day at Red Road, Kolkata, where thousands of peo­ple came to wit­ness the event.
