Lyonchhen in Kolkata
After attending the inaugural ceremony of 7th Session of the Second Parliament in Thimphu, Lyonchhen arrived in Kolkata last Thursday afternoon to attend the swearing– in ceremony of Mamata Banerjee as the Chief Minister of West Bengal Conveying the best wishes of His Majesty the King and the Gyaltsuen and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo to Mamata Banerjee, Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay congratulated Didi on her resounding victory as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Offering her the ‘Tashi Khadar’ the Prime Minister said that he was happy to be in Kolkata to wish Didi in person. Mamata Didi thanked the Prime Minister for accepting her invitation despite his busy schedule and said that this was a clear indication of the tremendous goodwill between Bhutan and West Bengal. She said this relation has been growing rapidly. Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay also met and interacted with the Governor of West Bengal, Cabinet Ministers, Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly and other Senior Government Officials during/after the swearing-in ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony took place yesterday at Red Road, Kolkata, where thousands of people came to witness the event.
