2016 World In­for­ma­tion, Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and Broad­cast­ing Min­is­te­rial Meet­ing in In­cheon, South Korea

The Asia-Pa­cific In­sti­tute for Broad­cast­ing De­vel­op­ment (AIBD) mem­ber coun­tries aligned with the Asia Me­dia Sum­mit 2016 at­tended the 2016 World In­for­ma­tion, Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and Broad­cast­ing Min­iste- rial Meet­ing in In­cheon, South Korea last Tues­day.

Some unique cir­cum­stances of each coun­try, cur­rent sta­tus of the broad­cast­ing tech­nol­ogy, suc­cess and fail­ure cases of new tech­nol­ogy in­tro­duc­tion and fu­ture coop- er­a­tion will be dis­cussed dur­ing the meet­ing. It will also find out poli­cies to nur­ture in­dus­try to be in­tro­duced and ways to al­le­vi­ate gaps among coun­tries/re­gions.

Most im­por­tantly, this meet­ing will strengthen har­mony, in­te­gra­tion, cul­tural un­der­stand­ing and new co­op­er­a­tion be­tween Bhutan and South Korea and other AIBD mem­ber coun­tries. This year’s meet­ing theme is the roles and con­tri­bu­tions of broad­cast­ing for fu­ture de­vel­op­ment.

Ly­onpo DN Dhungyel, Min­is­ter for the Min­istry of In­for­ma­tion and Com­mu­ni­ca­tions along with the of­fi­cials from the MoIC at­tended the 12th WICBS Meet­ing.
