His Majesty graces Sal­hang Ten­drel of JSW School of Law

29 May 2016, Paro : His Majesty The King graced the ground-break­ing cer­e­mony (Sa-Lhang Ten­drel) for the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law at Pang­bisa, Paro. Mem­bers of the Royal Fam­ily, the Prime Min­is­ter, of­fi­cials from the Royal Gov­ern­ment of Bhutan, and for­eign dig­ni­taries and donors were also present. The cer­e­mony marks the start of the in­fra­struc­ture devel­op­ment for the first law school in Bhutan. Con­struc­tion of the law school is slated to be­gin in early June 2016 and is ex­pected to be com­pleted in three phases. The con­struc­tion project is fi­nanced through project tied as­sis­tance (PTA) pro­vided by the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia. The JSW Law School was founded as an in­de­pen­dent, au­ton­o­mous ter­tiary ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tion by Royal Char­ter granted by His Majesty the King on the 21st Fe­bru­ary 2015. Her Royal High­ness Princess Sonam Dechen Wangchuck is the Pres­i­dent of the School.
