Samdrup Jongkher Thromde launches of Thromde services
The Samdrupjongkhar Thromde in collaboration with the Government to Citizen (G2C) Office under the Prime Minister Office launched the G2C System comprising of a total of 10 services under the Samdrupjongkhar Thromde last Monday.
The Director of the Cabinet Secretariat formally launched the 10 services pertaining to services relating to water supply, building construction and sewer services.
The Thromde services were developed by the G2C Office with support from the Government of India. It was initially piloted and launched in Thimphu Thromde on 9th July 2015. Thereafter based on the experience of Thimphu Thromde, the services are being replicated in other thromdes.
Garab Dorji, Dy. Chief from the G2C Office informed that in order to ensure successful operationalization of the 10 services, the G2C office carried out a three days user-training workshop from 28th March – 1st April 2016 to the official from Samdrupjongkhar Thromde.
It is anticipated that with the launched of the thromde services it will improve public service de- livery for citizens residing in the thromde in addition to reducing turn around time for citizens through automation and online delivery of services.
In the coming months, the G2C Office will be rolling out three mobile services for thromdes, water bill payment, land tax payment and online space booking.
The list of ten thromde services that was launched includes building construction, issuance of building occupancy certificate, new water line connection, water pipeline shifting, water pipe line main shifting, disconnection and reconnection of water, replacement of water meter, up gradation and downsizing of water connection capacity, sewer connection to main sewer line and vacant tanker services.
