Ambassador presents her Letters of Credence to Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)
Kutshab Pema Choden presented her Letters of Credence to H.E.Mr. Ahmet Uzumcu, Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague on Wednesday 6th July 2016 accrediting her as the Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the OPCW. The Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction, commonly known as the Chemical Weapons convention (CWC) is an arms control agreement which outlaws the production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons. The CWC entered into force on 29 April 1997 and has been ratified by 192 States Parties. Bhutan signed the Convention on 24th April 1997 and ratified it on 18 August 2005.
