Bhutan Ambassador in South Korea
Bhutan’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Sonam T Rabgye visited Seoul from 30 October-3 November 2016 to attend the ceremony for presenting credentials to Ms. Park Geun-hye, President of the Republic of Korea on 1st November 2016
Following the presentation of his letter of credence, Ambassador Rabgye conveyed the good wishes of His Majesty the King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Prime Minister and the People of Bhutan. He reiterated Bhutan‘s firm commitment to work closely with the Republic of Korea to further enhance the close ties of cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, Ambassador met with senior government officials including the Deputy Foreign Minister of Political Affairs, Vice President for Projects and Regional Coordination of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Chief of Protocol to the President of Korea, and held discussion on issues of mutual interest. Ambassador Rabgye also met with Bhutanese students in Korea and was also interviewed by reputed news agencies in Korea.
The two countries will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the estab- lishment of diplomatic relations in September 2017 and the occasion will be observed with year-long activities in both countries.
Ambassador Rabgye is the Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Korea, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
