Les Amis du Bhoutan cel­e­brates its 30th An­niver­sary

Les Amis du Bhoutan, one of the old­est Friend­ship As­so­ci­a­tion for Bhutan in Eu­rope, cel­e­brated the 30th an­niver­sary of its foun­da­tion at a din­ner in Paris on 27th Jan­uary 2017. The As­so­ci­a­tion was founded in 1987 to pro­mote bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of Bhutan in France.

The din­ner was at­tended by over 40 mem­bers of the As­so­ci­a­tion.

The As­so­ci­a­tion has about 90 reg­is­tered mem- bers from French speak­ing coun­tries in Eu­rope. Dr.Fran­coise Pom­maret, Di­rec­tor of Re­search at the Na­tional Cen­tre for Sci­en­tific Re­search (CNRS) in France and Re­search Ad­viser at the In­sti­tute for Lan­guage and Cul­tural Stud­ies in Bhutan, has been pres­i­dent of the As­so­ci­a­tion since 1999.

Am­bas­sador Pema Cho­den at­tended the event and thanked the As­so­ci­a­tion mem­bers for their in­ter­est in and con­tin­ued sup­port to Bhutan.
