Launch of nine G2C Ser­vices in Phuentshol­ing Thromde

Thromde Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Phuentshol­ing in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Govern­ment to Cit­i­zen (G2C) Of­fice un­der the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter and Cabi­net launched the G2C sys­tem com­pris­ing of a to­tal of 9 ser­vices un­der the Phuentshol­ing Thromde on 7th of Feb 2017.

Speak­ing at the launch, the chief guest, direc­tor Lobzang Dorji, Of­fice of Prime Min­is­ter and Cabi­net ex­pressed that the launch of the 9 ser­vices are in ful­fill­ment of the manda­tory in­di­ca­tors of the annual per­for­mance agree­ment signed be­tween Prime Min­is­ter Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay and the Thrompon, Phuentshol­ing Thromde for the the year 2016-2017. He also added that the launch of the 9 G2C ser­vices is ex­pected to im­prove pub­lic ser­vice de­liv­ery for the res­i­dents of Phuentshol­ing Thromde.

The nine ser­vices are build­ing con­struc­tion ap­proval, oc­cu­pancy cer­tifi­cate. on­line griev­ance, di­rect griev­ance, new sewer- age con­nec­tion, vac­uum tanker ser­vice, new wa­ter­line con­nec­tion, shift­ing of main pipe­line, do­mes­tic con­nec­tion and wa­ter me­ter, up­grad­ing, down­siz­ing, dis­con­nec­tion and re­con­nec­tion of pipe­lines

The nine Thromde ser­vices were ini­tially de­vel­oped by the G2C of­fice for Thim­phu Thromde and was launched on 9 July 2015.Upon suc­cess­ful op­er­a­tional­i­sa­tion of the ser­vices in Thim­phu Thromde, the ser­vices are be­ing repli­cated in the rest of the Thromdes.

The ad­van­tages of the on­line ser­vices is multi-fold, for the pub­lic will not have to visit the of­fice to avail the ser­vices, fur­ther the sys­tem also has SMS no­ti­fi­ca­tion in­te­grated into the sys­tem. For the Thromde of­fi­cials, with the re­duc­tion in pub­lic in­ter­fer­ence, the Thromde of­fi­cials will be able to per­form their du­ties with­out dis­tur­bance. Fur­ther, the sys­tem will also be im­por­tant for record keep­ing and gen­er­at­ing re­port for fu­ture ref­er­ence.

In terms of next steps, the Thromde Ad­min­is­tra- tion stated that they will be look­ing at sta­bi­liza­tion of the sys­tem with sup­port from the G2C of­fice. De­spite the chal­lenges re­lat­ing to in­ter­net speed, user ac­cep­tance and pub­lic aware­ness, the Thromde Ad­min­is­tra­tion ex­pressed that with the launch of Phuentshol­ing Thromde ser­vices, it is an­tic­i­pated to im­prove pub­lic ser­vice de­liv­ery for cit­i­zens re­sid­ing in the Thromde by re­duc­ing turn around time. Be­side time, the ser­vice will help in re­duc­ing travel cost for the cit­i­zens to avail the ser­vices.

The Thromde ser­vice was de­vel­oped by the G2C Of­fice with sup­port from the Govern­ment of In­dia un­der the GoI, PTA Project.
