Launch of nine G2C Services in Phuentsholing Thromde
Thromde Administration, Phuentsholing in collaboration with the Government to Citizen (G2C) Office under the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet launched the G2C system comprising of a total of 9 services under the Phuentsholing Thromde on 7th of Feb 2017.
Speaking at the launch, the chief guest, director Lobzang Dorji, Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet expressed that the launch of the 9 services are in fulfillment of the mandatory indicators of the annual performance agreement signed between Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and the Thrompon, Phuentsholing Thromde for the the year 2016-2017. He also added that the launch of the 9 G2C services is expected to improve public service delivery for the residents of Phuentsholing Thromde.
The nine services are building construction approval, occupancy certificate. online grievance, direct grievance, new sewer- age connection, vacuum tanker service, new waterline connection, shifting of main pipeline, domestic connection and water meter, upgrading, downsizing, disconnection and reconnection of pipelines
The nine Thromde services were initially developed by the G2C office for Thimphu Thromde and was launched on 9 July 2015.Upon successful operationalisation of the services in Thimphu Thromde, the services are being replicated in the rest of the Thromdes.
The advantages of the online services is multi-fold, for the public will not have to visit the office to avail the services, further the system also has SMS notification integrated into the system. For the Thromde officials, with the reduction in public interference, the Thromde officials will be able to perform their duties without disturbance. Further, the system will also be important for record keeping and generating report for future reference.
In terms of next steps, the Thromde Administra- tion stated that they will be looking at stabilization of the system with support from the G2C office. Despite the challenges relating to internet speed, user acceptance and public awareness, the Thromde Administration expressed that with the launch of Phuentsholing Thromde services, it is anticipated to improve public service delivery for citizens residing in the Thromde by reducing turn around time. Beside time, the service will help in reducing travel cost for the citizens to avail the services.
The Thromde service was developed by the G2C Office with support from the Government of India under the GoI, PTA Project.
