Construction industry showcases newest technology
The Construction industries in collaboration with Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industries is organising a four-day Bhutan Construction Expo. The Expo that ends on 19 June showcases latest products and technologies under one roof in Thimphu.
The Expo provides a platform to showcase latest technologies, products, and services in the field of construction sector. It creates awareness on latest innovative and most efficient available products and technologies. It also encourages business tieups between the local and international construction industries, and promotes Green and Sustainable construction.
Over the past years, the expo has been consistent in providing platforms for the display of latest and most efficient construction equipments. Through the construction expo, the contractors are expected to avail themselves of the ideas to make their job easier and more productive in the construction sites.
Companies from India and Bhutan are exhibiting a wide range of latest heavy machineries such as excavators, mining equipment asphalt paver finishers, generator sets, earth moving machinery, cranes, tools and machinery, real estate, road equipments, power generation machinery and water equipments.
It also showcases construction chemicals, toilet accessories, concrete products, plumbing materials, bathroom safety equipments, doors and windows, grill and gates, water tanks, light and fittings, roofing and facades, paints and coat, pumps and pipes, solar energy products, plywood and timbers, textiles, furniture, dishes, agricultural machinery, gardening and landscape equipment.
The current Bhutan Construction Expo, which is eight in the series, is said to be bigger and better compared to the previous years. According to the official from BCCI, past seven annual expos has created platform for display and exhibition of the construction equipment and machinery which has boosted the construction industry in the country.
The event was encouraged by the success of preceding expos and saw wider and better qualitative construction products on display.
More than 88 companies from outside and inside the country are participating at the Expo to showcase their products and construction technology. The companies include JCB, STCBL TaTa, Kobelco, ATLAS COPCO, APPOLO, hindware and Ajax Fiori participated in the construction expo among others.
Over the three-days, thousands visited that includes government and private contractors, builders, architects and engineers, design consultants, real estate developers and project owners, industrialists, business people and construction industry professional among others.
