New Per­ma­nent Rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Bhutan to UN presents cre­den­tials to UN Sec­re­tary – Gen­eral

The newly ap­pointed Per­ma­nent Rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Bhutan to the United Na­tions in New York, Am­bas­sador Doma Tsh­er­ing pre­sented her cre­den­tials to the UN Sec­re­tary – Gen­eral, An­to­nio Guter­res on the morn­ing of 13th Septem­ber 2017 at the UN Head­quar­ters in New York. Am­bas­sador Doma Tsh­er­ing is the 11th Per­ma­nent Rep­re­sen­ta­tive of Bhutan to the United Na­tions. She was ap­pointed as the Per­ma­nent Rep­re­sen­ta­tive and Am­bas­sador Ex­tra­or­di­nary and Plenipo­ten­tiary of Bhutan to the United Na­tions on 25 Au­gust 2017 fol­low­ing Royal Kasho dated 14 Au­gust 2017. Fol­low­ing the pre­sen­ta­tion of cre­den­tials, Am­bas­sador Doma Tsh­er­ing called on the Sec­re­tary – Gen­eral, dur­ing which she con­veyed the greet­ing of His Majesty The King and dis­cussed ways to fur­ther strengthen en­gage­ment and co­op­er­a­tion be­tween Bhutan and the United Na­tions. The Sec­re­tary – Gen­eral re­called his visit to Bhutan in 2007 and lauded Bhutan’s com­mit­ment to sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment and tran­si­tion to democ­racy.
