Thimphu police arrested four boys and girl in connection with robbery
Thimphu police arrested four boys and one girl on the night of 20th September after the group robbed one of the staff of the Bangladeshi Embassy in Thimphu. The incident happened on 14th September at 9.30 pm in between swimming pool and Druk Pizza after the victim came from the trade show.
Actually the victim came across a dog on the way chasing him, but met with group of boys consisting of four boys and one girl, and then they even gave help and offering him to smoke but the victim refused.
After reaching to one of the corners of the swimming pool, one of the boys attacked the victim with kicks and demanded cash from him. Then they forcefully tried to take cash from victim’s pocket, and could get around cash of Nu.750.
According to the officer commanding (Maj) Wangdi the victim had cash of around Nu.1000 but suspects had admitted that they had taken only with Nu.750.
Police official said that as the victim didn’t have any physical injury, so he didn’t lodged a complaint against the suspects.
But the victim encountered one of the suspects and then reported to the police on 20th September, and then police on duty had arrested all of them on the same day.
Meanwhile, the suspects were all detained for the robbery. Police official said that since girl had not have involved but she will be charged for failing to report the crime.
While, they were unemployed and drop out, among them was 17 years old from Dagana currently studying in class seven, other one is illiterate 15 years old and also an ex- convicts from Samtse. Another was 14 years old from Trongsa who was a school dropped out. The other was is 18 years old from Trashigang, a class VIII student on suspension.
While the 18 years old girl was from Paro and currently doing work in one of the shops in Thimphu as sales girl.
The suspect said that they spend money on momo.
Meanwhile, Thimphu police also arrested 25 years old suspect on 14th September in connection with the stabbing of 29 years old man on his back with knife and the victims is under detention.
Police official said that they known to each other but following a misunderstanding, the incidents happened at Hongkong Market. Both of them were unemployed.
While, Thimphu police had also arrested 31 persons in connection with the drugs from 7th September till 22nd September this month.
Among them, currently 10 of them were under detention and 21 of them were directed to Bhutan Narcotic Control Agency (BNCA) for counseling and treatment.
Out of the 10 person, one is in with connection with possession of tobacco product and rest all arrested related to illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs under illegal possession. While the age ranges from 15-33 years old.
