Thim­phu po­lice ar­rested four boys and girl in con­nec­tion with rob­bery

Thim­phu po­lice ar­rested four boys and one girl on the night of 20th Septem­ber af­ter the group robbed one of the staff of the Bangladeshi Em­bassy in Thim­phu. The in­ci­dent hap­pened on 14th Septem­ber at 9.30 pm in be­tween swim­ming pool and Druk Pizza af­ter the vic­tim came from the trade show.

Ac­tu­ally the vic­tim came across a dog on the way chas­ing him, but met with group of boys con­sist­ing of four boys and one girl, and then they even gave help and of­fer­ing him to smoke but the vic­tim re­fused.

Af­ter reach­ing to one of the cor­ners of the swim­ming pool, one of the boys at­tacked the vic­tim with kicks and de­manded cash from him. Then they force­fully tried to take cash from vic­tim’s pocket, and could get around cash of Nu.750.

Ac­cord­ing to the of­fi­cer com­mand­ing (Maj) Wangdi the vic­tim had cash of around Nu.1000 but sus­pects had ad­mit­ted that they had taken only with Nu.750.

Po­lice of­fi­cial said that as the vic­tim didn’t have any phys­i­cal in­jury, so he didn’t lodged a com­plaint against the sus­pects.

But the vic­tim en­coun­tered one of the sus­pects and then re­ported to the po­lice on 20th Septem­ber, and then po­lice on duty had ar­rested all of them on the same day.

Mean­while, the sus­pects were all de­tained for the rob­bery. Po­lice of­fi­cial said that since girl had not have in­volved but she will be charged for fail­ing to re­port the crime.

While, they were un­em­ployed and drop out, among them was 17 years old from Da­gana cur­rently study­ing in class seven, other one is il­lit­er­ate 15 years old and also an ex- con­victs from Samtse. An­other was 14 years old from Trongsa who was a school dropped out. The other was is 18 years old from Trashigang, a class VIII stu­dent on sus­pen­sion.

While the 18 years old girl was from Paro and cur­rently do­ing work in one of the shops in Thim­phu as sales girl.

The sus­pect said that they spend money on momo.

Mean­while, Thim­phu po­lice also ar­rested 25 years old sus­pect on 14th Septem­ber in con­nec­tion with the stab­bing of 29 years old man on his back with knife and the vic­tims is un­der de­ten­tion.

Po­lice of­fi­cial said that they known to each other but fol­low­ing a mis­un­der­stand­ing, the in­ci­dents hap­pened at Hongkong Mar­ket. Both of them were un­em­ployed.

While, Thim­phu po­lice had also ar­rested 31 per­sons in con­nec­tion with the drugs from 7th Septem­ber till 22nd Septem­ber this month.

Among them, cur­rently 10 of them were un­der de­ten­tion and 21 of them were di­rected to Bhutan Nar­cotic Con­trol Agency (BNCA) for coun­sel­ing and treat­ment.

Out of the 10 person, one is in with con­nec­tion with pos­ses­sion of to­bacco prod­uct and rest all ar­rested re­lated to il­licit traf­fick­ing of nar­cotic drugs un­der il­le­gal pos­ses­sion. While the age ranges from 15-33 years old.
