Bhutan receives Nu. 96.955 million from GoI
The Gross National Happiness Commission (GNHC) received a sum of Nu. 96.955 M from the Government of India last Friday.
The Senior Program Officer with GNHC Passang Dorji received the cheques from the Deputy Chief of Mission of Indian Embassy in Thimphu Ms. Esha Srivastava.
This release of funds of worth Nu. 96.955 million will be funded towards the project tied assistance projects for the construction of Royal Audit training centre in Tsirang and construction of GomphuPanbang Road.
The Government of India has committed Nu. 50,000 million in the 11th FYP to Bhutan. The detailed break-up of the commitment is Nu. 28,000 million for Project Tied Assistance (PTA), Nu. 8,500 million for Program Grant (PG), Nu. 8,500 million for Small Development Projects (SDP) and Nu. 8,500 million for Economic Stimulus Plan.
As on date, Government of India has released Nu. 18175 million for PTA projects, Nu. 7225 million for Program Grant, Nu. 7,150 million for SDP and Nu. 4,400 million for economic Stimulus Plan to Bhutan. In total, the Government of India has released Nu. 36,950 million to Bhutan which is 74 % of total GOI commitment for the 11th Five Year Plan Period.
