Bhutan re­ceives Nu. 96.955 mil­lion from GoI

The Gross Na­tional Hap­pi­ness Com­mis­sion (GNHC) re­ceived a sum of Nu. 96.955 M from the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia last Fri­day.

The Se­nior Pro­gram Of­fi­cer with GNHC Pas­sang Dorji re­ceived the cheques from the Deputy Chief of Mis­sion of In­dian Em­bassy in Thim­phu Ms. Esha Sri­vas­tava.

This re­lease of funds of worth Nu. 96.955 mil­lion will be funded to­wards the pro­ject tied as­sis­tance projects for the con­struc­tion of Royal Audit train­ing cen­tre in Tsir­ang and con­struc­tion of Gom­phuPan­bang Road.

The Gov­ern­ment of In­dia has com­mit­ted Nu. 50,000 mil­lion in the 11th FYP to Bhutan. The de­tailed break-up of the com­mit­ment is Nu. 28,000 mil­lion for Pro­ject Tied As­sis­tance (PTA), Nu. 8,500 mil­lion for Pro­gram Grant (PG), Nu. 8,500 mil­lion for Small Devel­op­ment Projects (SDP) and Nu. 8,500 mil­lion for Eco­nomic Stim­u­lus Plan.

As on date, Gov­ern­ment of In­dia has re­leased Nu. 18175 mil­lion for PTA projects, Nu. 7225 mil­lion for Pro­gram Grant, Nu. 7,150 mil­lion for SDP and Nu. 4,400 mil­lion for eco­nomic Stim­u­lus Plan to Bhutan. In to­tal, the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia has re­leased Nu. 36,950 mil­lion to Bhutan which is 74 % of to­tal GOI com­mit­ment for the 11th Five Year Plan Pe­riod.
