Stall for great op­por­tu­ni­ties

It was a big sale and was a great op­por­tu­nity for the shopkeeper to do their busi­ness and also for the peo­ple as they can get things eas­ily at the cheaper rates.

This was mainly dur­ing the time of fes­ti­val that many busi­ness peo­ple sell things on dis­count rates and also op­por­tu­ni­ties for them to clear their stocks.

Dur­ing the re­cent Thim­phu Tshechu, the Thim­phu Thromde had al­lo­cated 440 stalls to shopkeeper along the Norzin Lam.

While it was also a good chance for the Thromde to earn some rev­enue to meet their cur­rent ex­pen­di­ture.

The Tshechu not only mean mask dances but it is also about an en­ter­tain­ment for the peo­ple and get to­gether and spend their times with friends and fam­i­lies and also to pro­mote so­cial life.

For each stall along the Norzin lam road, the Thromde charged Nu. 1500 a day while Nu. 1000 for Changlingmithang park­ing area as a fee for about 3 me­ters space.

The stall was stretch from junc­tion of Ju­mol­hari ho­tel till hand­i­craft em­po­rium. Traf­fic was closed on Norzin Lam dur­ing the fes­ti­val.

One of the shopkeeper Dechen, 23, who was hav­ing stalled said that she is not do­ing for the profit but for the stock clear­ance. She said that she of­fered the goods with cheaper rates.

An­other shopkeeper Sonam said that he earned good profit even af­ter giv­ing with dis­count rates as ma­jor­ity of the cus­tomers vis­ited his stall.

Dur­ing the fes­ti­val, the vis­i­tor could hardly see the busi­ness peo­ple from out­side be­cause of lim­ited space. This re­ally helps and en­ter- tains peo­ple as it also be­came the part of the fes­ti­val.

The cos­tumers are also en­joyed lot with the price of goods of­fered by the busi­ness peo­ple.

Pema 25 said that it was a great op­por­tu­nity for her to get things with cheaper rates. She added that it had ben­e­fited for both as peo­ple can get more of their wants at cheaper price and for the ven­dors could clear their stocks.
