Ly­onch­hen meets peo­ple un­der Pu­nakha Dzongkhag

Dasho Tsh­er­ing Tob­gay, Ly­onch­hen met the peo­ple of Kab­jisa Ge­wog un­der Pu­nakha Dzongkhag yes­ter­day.

Ly­onch­hen said that when the wind­storm in May this year af­fected the peo­ple of Kab­jisa he was sad­dened but the im­me­di­ate Kidu re­lief from His Majesty the King and peo­ple’s hard-work post the wind­storm has brought Kab­jisa back to its glory.

Ly­onch­hen said that the gov­ern­ment in its ca­pac­ity will try its best to work to­ward Kab­jisa’s de­vel­op­ment and that the peo­ple must share the work with the gov­ern­ment by be­ing re­spon­si­ble.

He talked to the peo­ple on the de­cen­tral­iza­tion ef­forts from the gov­ern- ment and how the Ge­wog De­vel­op­ment Grant and Dzongkhag De­vel­op­ment Grant has been granted funds to carry out im­por­tant ac­tiv­i­ties in the ge­wog and Dzongkhag not in­cluded in the five year plans.

Ly­onch­hen said that the gov­ern­ment will con­struct roads and the peo­ple should work to main­tain the roads. He also urged the peo­ple to use the op­por­tu­ni­ties pro­vided by the gov­ern­ment and work hard. He men­tioned about the ru­ral loan op­por­tu­nity from Ru­ral En­ter­prise De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion Lim­ited (REDCL) which in Kab­jisa has been availed by 22 peo­ple for di­ary pro­duc­tion, veg­etable works and wood based pro­duc­tion works.

He con­veyed his ap- pre­ci­a­tion to the peo­ple on hav­ing availed ser­vices from REDCL and oth­ers who have shown in­ter­est in the same.

The peo­ple of Kab­jisa urged Ly­onch­hen for a waste dis­posal site for the ge­wog. Ly­onch­hen thanked the peo­ple for such wise thoughts and urged the Gup and the Dzongkhag to look into the mat­ter.

Ly­onch­hen also spoke to the peo­ple on us­ing bio­gas. He said that the peo­ple of Kab­jisa have dairy farms and so bio­gas would be fea­si­ble.

The peo­ple of Kab­jisa thanked His Majesty The King for the im­me­di­ate Kidu re­lief dur­ing the May wind­storm and for work­ing to­wards the con­tin­ued wel­fare of the peo­ple. His Majesty The King per­son­ally vis­ited the peo­ple Kab­jisa af­ter the wind­storm in May this year.

Ly­onch­hen has met the peo­ple of 195 of the 205 gewogs in the coun­try over Ge­wog zom­dus. Ly­onpo Tandin Wangchuk, Health Min­is­ter who looks af­ter Wang­duepho­drang and Pu­nakha Dzongkhags and the Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment from Kabji-Talo, Do­phu ac­com­pa­nied the Prime Min­is­ter.
