All the major civil, hydro-mechanical, electromechanical and transmission lines & its ATS of Mangdechhu Project are nearing completion.

As on 31st May 2018, physically, 96.5% works have been completed. MHPA management is planning to plug the diversion tunnel which is the last activity in the project, between 15th September – 15th October 2018.

3rd Revised Cost Esti- mate i.e. Nu.52,709.11 Million of Mangdechhu Project based at December 2017 price level has been submitted by the MHPA management in March 2018 to the Government of India for obtaining approval.

After commissioning of the Mangdechhu Project, 3 billion units shall be generated in a year. As per the data available, Mangdechhu Project if compared with the contemporary Hydroelectric Projects recently commis- sioned, is the cheapest and also executed in the optimum time frame inspite difficult terrain and logistics.

Mangdechhu Project transmission lines shall also be transmitting the power of 118 MW Tansibji Hydro Project after its commissioning, to Alipurduar Sub-station, West Bengal.
