PDP out of the race
The People's Democratic Party ( PDP) had secured 79,883 voters which is 27.44 percent of the total voters of 291,098 casted on the 15th of September, 2018 for the primary round of election in the 47 Demkhongs of twenty Dzongkhags.
The party has secured 56,180 through EVM and 23,703 through postal ballots.
The party lost the chance for going to the general elections scheduled on the 18th of October 2018, but will qualify for the state funding for the next elections.
The President of PDP Tshering Tobgay in his face book post had congratulate the President of Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa and the President of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa and all the candidates of the two parties for their outstanding performance in the primary round of Bhutan's third parliamentary election.

PDP during the primary round of election held on 31st of March 2013 had secured 32.53 percent of the votes casted for the second national assembly elections 2013 and became the first registered political party on 6th August 2007.
