THREE BHUTANESE TO BE TRAINED AS CHOP­PER PI­LOTS

Three Bhutanese men will be trained as he­li­copter pi­lots for which they left for Canada on Fri­day.

They will be trained to fly he­li­copters in moun­tain­ous set­tings for serch and res­cue op­er­a­tions and emer­gency med­i­cal ser­vices.

They are San­gay Tsh­ogyal, 26, Ugyen Dorji, 25 and Nam­gay Rinchen, 24, em­ploy­ees of the Royal Bhutan He­li­copter Ser­vices.

Af­ter six-months’ train­ing, they will sit for a fi­nal test called Bhutan Air Law exam to se­cure a Bhutanese com­mer­cial pi­lot li­cense.

For the last one year, they were at­tached with three veteran pi­lots from the UK, Aus­tralia, and New Zealand.
