FORMER FINANCE SECRETARY JOINS BKP
Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party (BKP) announced the candidacy of the former finance secretary Lam Dorji from Bji-Katsho-Uesu constituency in Haa at the opening of its Dzongkhag party office on January 31 in Haa. Lam Dorji, 61, who is from Dumcho village in Uesu Gewog, retired from government services in July 2016 after serving for nearly four decades, mostly in the finance ministry. The press release from the party states that Lam Dorji holds a chartered accountancy degree from Chartered Management Institute of Accounts from London and has a Master of Business Administration from University of Wales in the UK. He worked as a consultant for UNDP in matters related to fiscal decentralization and sustainable financing, and gave talks on national economy and finance management.
