NON-SUBSIDIZED LPG CYLINDERS HIT THE MARKET
To curb the shortage of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders in the country, the Department of Trade launched non-subsidized LPG in the capital last week.
More than 70,000 non-subsidized LPG cylinders, which is about 1,000MT were made available to four Thromdes.
Unlike the subsidized LPG which requires Nu 1,450 to be paid as security deposit, nonsubsidized LPG costs Nu 1,650. Whereas a cost to refill a subsidized LPG is Nu 537, non-subsidized LPG costs Nu 815. However, non-subsidized LPG does not require the LPG card or a coupon number.
Bhutan receives about 49,300 subsidized LPG cylinders amounting to about 700MT monthly.
