CUSTOM OFFICIALS SEIZE FOREIGN CURRENCY
Custom officials in Paro seized foreign currency worth US$ 227,000 from two women who were travelling to Bangkok on February 7.
According to the customs rules, passengers are not allowed to carry more than US$ 10,000 without seeking clearance. The two women, aged 25 and 35, were from Tangmachu in Lhuntse.
Another man was caught by the custom officials in Paro on February 9 for carrying foreign currency of US$ 100,000. The 33-yearold is from Maedtsho in Lhuntse and was leaving for Bangkok.
